Courtney M. Ryan

Courtney M. Ryan is an attorney serving the South Bay, Orange County and Greater Los Angeles in the areas of criminal law, post conviction relief, and Educational Law and Advocacy.  She received her B.A. and M.A. degree from Columbia University and law degree from Loyola Law School in 2009.  Prior to attending law school, Courtney taught and coached at both the elementary, middle school and collegiate level.  While in law school, Courtney was an extern for the Honoroable James V. Selna of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.  She also served as a Justice on the Scott Moot Court Honors Board and was a top four finalist in Loyola’s 2008 Moot Court Competition.

Courtney spent the early part of her career practicing business litigation where she handled a wide array of cases involving contract disputes, intellectual property, unfair business practices, and employment matters.  In 2015, she also became a certified mediator and worked with the Los Angeles Superior Court and Office of Business and Consumer Affairs Department help mediate and resolve cases.  She also volunteered her time at Bet Tzedek Legal Services helping under served communities on a variety of legal matters.

Courtney’s passion has always been helping others, especially individuals suffering from mental health and substances abuse disorders.  She feels fortunate that her current practice allows her to combine her experience as a teacher, coach and advocate to help others navigate the complexities of the criminal legal and educational systems.
